Francisco Pizarro Gonzalez was a Spanish conquistador. He was a very famous Spanish explorer that uncovered many lands that we know today in Geography. Francis was born in Trujillo Spain. He was the son to Gonzalo Pizarro and Francisca Gonzalez. They weren’t a very wealthy family. He was born in 1470 to 1471 He wasn’t that great in school and grew up as an illiterate. His father was a colonel of infantry. He had served in the Navarre and the Italian campaigns. His parents never really paid attention to him at all to Francis. Pizarro’s died on June 26, 1541. He was assassinated in his own palace in Peru. 20 men stormed into his palace. He was attacked by these men. He killed 2 of them, going for the third reaching out for his sword but later was stabbed in the throat.
At a very young age he heard many stories about the world around him and he was very interested about this topic. He was automatically hooked on adventure and being curious. He always was a curious man that always wanted to discover new things and find new discoveries. He was very ambitious and wanted to improve his life.
In the year 1528, he was assigned a mission to conquer the southern part of South America. This trip and campaign was a very big step for Spanish colonization. 40 soldiers followed Francisco in this battle. They also had their allies that would as well help them in this Eventually the Peru empire fell. 1528 was when the Spanish arrived at their shores. The empire had covered a lot of mountainous regions in the world which made it difficult for them to cross. This was their fist expedition into the Empire. Complete failure, they had countless problems, and these included the lack of food and water, the bad weather. The Spanish had retreated back to panama where he started. Finally in the year 1532, he went back to Peru with a full army and conquered the Incan Empire. They had left with three ships, 168 men and 27 horses. They got a lot of gold and goods.
